Who are teaching? 

Post-doctoral and Independent researchers from world class academic institutions and biotech industry from the United States, Europe and India are volunteering to teach the following two courses, Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology

Molecularbiology course

Developmental Biology SW2401: 

Key biological concepts that play key role in development : Cell differentiation, cell migration, cell-cell communication, regulation of gene expression, cell death. Processes construct the body plan like germ layer formation, patterning and body axis formation to organogenesis. Evolutionary Developmental biology and developmental disorders and regeneration



Molecular Genetics SW2402: 

Mendelian genetics, Central Dogma, RNA biology, CRISPR based gene editing, advanced cell and molecular therapies


Who are eligible to apply?

Undergraduate and master's students enrolled in public colleges and universities in India fascinated by the field of Developmental biology and wonder “a single cell develops into a complex organism" and interested to pursue higher education in research (PhD).


IT requirement: Stable internet connection with a laptop or a desktop or a smartphone or a tablet.

Applications for Winter 2024: Deadline Feb 15th, 2024(closed).

Application requirements: Statement of Purpose and two recommendations along with online application.

Course duration: 2-3 classes of 60-90 min duration per week from Mar-Apr 2024

  • Who is eligible to apply to Scienspur courses?

    Undergraduate/Bachelor or Master’s students enrolled in any life sciences degree courses from state government funded university colleges/public colleges are eligible to apply.

  • Can students from other disciplines apply?

    Students who are enrolled in other disciplines including Mathematics, Technology, Engineering and Humanities & Arts but interested in learning biological concepts can also apply. 

  • How do I get recommendations?

    You may ask your lecturers/mentors or professors who can assess your academic interests and skills and write a recommendation letter for you. You can provide their contact information in the application after you receive confirmation from them. The application system will send an email to them with a link to upload the recommendation letter.

  • Can students from private institutes apply?

    Yes. Students enrolled in private universities/colleges/institutes also can apply. Please select "Govt aided" option in while filling your application. However, the main idea of Scienspur is to help the students from public colleges who otherwise will not get access to the educational resources that others get. Hence the review committee cannot guarantee the slot in the cohort. 

  • What is the total cost for this course?

    Scienspur courses are free. Students need not to pay for anything including application, course material or the course completion certificate. 


  • Does Scienspur provide a certificate after the course completion?

    Yes. Scienspur will award a certificate to the active participants upon successful completion of the course.

  • Can I apply to all offered courses?

    Yes. Students can apply to all Scienspur courses for a given semester. However, you will be selected for only one course in a semester.
